The American Federation for Aging Research is accepting applications for the AFAR-GE Healthcare Junior Investigator Award for Excellence in Aging Heart Research. The award will recognize the most innovative research related to the interface between cardiovascular disease and the biology of aging. Only applications that deal with how basic mechanisms in the biology of aging "set the stage" for the emergence of cardiovascular diseases or how such mechanisms can serve to enhance early diagnosis and treatment will be considered. Four prizes of $1,500 will be awarded plus reimbursement for travel expenses (up to $500).
