An award of $1 million will be given to libraries outside the U.S. working to create new ways to offer free public access to computers and the internet in disadvantaged communities.

Entries Invited for Lemelson-MIT Award for Sustainability

Deadline: October 6, 2009

An award of $100,000 will be given to U.S. citizens or foreign nationals who have created or redesigned a product, process, or material that improves quality of life pertaining to the ecosystem or human environment as a whole.

Think Tank Initiative Invites Expressions of Interest From Institutions in Latin America and South Asia

Deadline: September 28, 2009 

Grants will be awarded to successful think tanks utilizing research on social and economic policy to increase growth and equity and reduce poverty in countries in East and West Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.
