The mission of the Wellmark Foundation is to efficiently and effectively facilitate the continual improvement of health status within Iowa and South Dakota communities. The Foundation's current RFP, "Healthy Communities Grant Program: Supporting a Culture of Wellness and Prevention," invites proposals from nonprofit organizations and government agencies that seek to develop, implement, and enhance local level wellness and prevention programs. Funded programs should work with a non-patient population versus targeting patients already in a clinical setting. Successful proposals will focus on primary prevention and will reflect the priority health needs of the targeted community/geographic area. Grants will be awarded at two levels: up to $25,000 for Level I and up to $150,000 for Level II.
